Hi

because of the holidays i do not get to see a lot of my friends so you can just post here.

Rock and Roll

He’s been waiting around for the weekend
Figuring which club to sneak in
Fancy drinks and fifty-dollar cover charge
Lately it’s been a big hassle
Heineken and New Castle
To make sure he’s fitting in and living large
Disregard the lies that he will tell
and what he’s probably like 'cause
It's not hard his charm is gonna
Get him through the night

If he wanna rock he rocks
If he wanna roll he rolls
He can roll with the punches
Long as he feels like she’s in control
If he wanna stay he stays
If he wanna go he goes
he doesn’t care how he gets there
Long as he gets somewhere he knows oh no
ah na na na na na na na na na na na
ah na na na na na na na na na na na

See her heavy make up and cut t-shirt
Every girl out wants to be her
But they look the same already why adjust
Reading the magazine secrets
Forget the topical regrets
'Cause If she comes home all alone the nights a bust
It’s a must the swivel in her hips
And the look she gives
It’s all her trust if only in the morning
She knew where she lived

'Cause If she wanna rock she rocks
If she wanna roll she rolls
She can roll with the punches
Long as she feels like she’s in control
If she wanna stay she stays
If she wanna go she goes

he doesn’t care how she gets there
Long as she gets somewhere she knows oh no
ah na na na na na na na na na na na
ah na na na na na na na na na na na

And in a wink they’re on the brink
From drink to drink and at the bar
With cash to blow
From shot to shot it’s getting hot
Advance the plot to see how far
It’s gonna go
All depends so ditch the friends
And grab a cab
Another chance for cheap romance
Doesn’t count cause the room is spinning
Nothing to lose tonight they both are winning
And they fall in love as they fall in bed
They sing

If they wanna rock they rock
If they wanna roll they roll
They can roll with the punches

Heroes of Tobruk

Genre: Fiction
Paperback
192 pages
Published by Scholastic
Published March 2008
ISBN: 9781741690774

Product Information
It is 1940, and sixteen-year-old Peter Fullerton and his best friend Tony Cantonelli lie about their age to enlist in the army. Tony also lies about his name-Australia is at war with Italy, and suspicion has been added to the racism he already encounters. Heroes of Tobruk follows these characters from the outbreak of war, through military training and the siege of Tobruk. Meticulously researched, it combines historical detail and factual information about World War II with a very powerful personal story. Maps and photographs add to the sense of realism.

OATHS SWORN . . . loyalties tested . . . forces collide.

Following the colossal battle against the Empire’s warriors on the Burning Plains, Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, have narrowly escaped with their lives. Still there is more at hand for the Rider and his dragon, as Eragon finds himself bound by a tangle of promises he may not be able to keep.

First is Eragon’s oath to his cousin Roran: to help rescue Roran’s beloved, Katrina, from King Galbatorix’s clutches. But Eragon owes his loyalty to others, too. The Varden are in desperate need of his talents and strength—as are the elves and dwarves. When unrest claims the rebels and danger strikes from every corner, Eragon must make choices— choices that take him across the Empire and beyond, choices that may lead to unimagined sacrifice.

Eragon is the greatest hope to rid the land of tyranny. Can this once-simple farm boy unite the rebel forces and defeat the king?

i,m yours

this is my favourite song

Well you done done me and you bet I felt it
I tried to be chill but you're so hot that I melted
I fell right through the cracks
Now I'm trying to get back
Before the cool done run out
I'll be giving it my bestest
And nothing's going to stop me but divine intervention
I reckon it's again my turn to win some or learn some

I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait, I'm yours

Well open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and damn you're free
Look into your heart and you'll find love love love love
Listen to the music of the moment babay sing with me
I love peace for melody
And It's our God-forsaken right to be loved love loved love loved

So I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait I'm sure
There's no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours

Scooch on over closer dear
And i will nibble your ear

I've been spending way too long checking my tongue in the mirror
And bending over backwards just to try to see it clearer
But my breath fogged up the glass
And so I drew a new face and laughed
I guess what I'm be saying is there ain't no better reason
To rid yourself of vanity and just go with the seasons
It's what we aim to do
Our name is our virtue

But I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait I'm sure

Well open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and damn you're free
Look into your heart and you'll find that the sky is yours
Please don't, please don't, please don't
There's no need to complicate
Cause our time is short
This oh this this is out fate, I'm yours!

book of the month

Old Drumble is a fantastic book by Jack Lasenby about a little boy named Jack Jackman, Andy the drover and Old Drumble, the smartest drover's dog there ever was. A drover, by the way, is a person who shifts cattle and sheep across roads and paths from field to field.

Old Drumble is written in a quirky and different way with funny chapter titles, descriptive wording and interesting questions thought up by Jack that really make you think - e.g. if his street is flat, then which side is the top and which is the bottom? They have equally interesting answers as well.

The book is about the stories that Andy the drover tells Jack about his best droving dog - Old Drumble. About once every week he'd let Jack help him drive the sheep and cattle down Ward Street, and not a step further! - as his mother always said.

That dog had many adventures - he held the whole river up with his bark, he won the Te Aroha races. He even made cattle walk across a tightrope blindfolded.

I give this book a 9/10 because it has some good laugh

my story

Once upon a time, a flour coloured kitten was born, yes a kitten his mother called him Bob. Now Bob had a hard time growing up, first of all he didn’t grow one bit, so he was to a certain extent small, second he had the most ordinary name at his school, most kittens had names like Theresadoor (Theodora) and Fredisdead (Fredrick). They lived in Ingland (England) right beside Sockland (Scotland), Ingland (England) fought Notthatway (Norway).

While this war was on Bob was still training to be a knight, and not growing. One day he hoped that he would be the bravest cat on the battle field and riding the most awesome dog, yes a dog and the dog’s name would be Meg. One day while he was training a girl Border collie walked passed saying, “I want my armour”, and so Bob looked at his watch and said “if I find your armour will you serve me”, “yes I will, and I will only stop if I’m killed or you are victorious!”, “ok it is in the armoire”, “thanks!” and before the dog ran a way he shouted “what is your name?”, “Meg!”

So this is the part where they go to war, kill the bad people and say how good and brave or how they would have lost with out him, bla bla bla bla…………………

He got in the army as a knight he sat on his trusted canine as they swam across the ocean they passed USA, Canada, Alaska and Russia. When they got there they were given cheese they did not eat it because it might be poisoned so they set up camp on a beach, not far away was the rival army assembling point. While he was there a small mouse came out and said “I Prince Jim come in peace I lay my weapons down at my feet (he did not have any weapons) I have come to speak to a young Bob”,
“Yes, that is me”.
“I have come to give you your father’s sword and fight on your side”
“Why” roared Meg.
“I have come to hate the mice and their ways first one of their plans to kill you was to throw poisoned cheese at you that would explode and kill you with happy thoughts”.
Meg gave a snicker “with happy thought, hah! They are stupider than I thought”,
“Deadly: yes. Stupid: no” explained Jim.
“Ok, go to the kennel and get a steed” suggested Bob, as Jim walks off.
Meg whispered to Bob “he’s a spy”
“No he’s not, look how he said I have come to hate the mice”. Any way Jim was not a spy and he was getting a soldier cat to ride, its name was called Mea, she was a black cat, female and laughs her head off at Bob’s war helmet. Well as the mice line up at one side of the battle front the cats and dogs line up at the other and up a hill in a box a cow is commenting and he says “ they are lining up for this battle the best steel swords in their kingdoms, best armour, it is going to be a good fight.”

The king of the Cats Theresadoor gets on his Labrador called Ronan and lines up in front of all his knights, pulls out his special sword and roars out Charge!
As he says that a large rumble starts because all 15,000,200 knights left the ground on their steeds as they tried to get at the mice first to rip them to bits and do as they were taught. We see Bob at the front of the army on the biggest steed Meg and Jim beside on Mea, as they were charging the mice were not going back but running straight for the cats as the clash of steel on steel, rings through the air the screaming cats get knocked of dogs, the mice are still screaming as swords are driven though their hide and friends are killed in front of them and beside mice are dropping all around as the foot soldiers are knocked off. A group of black splodges coming at a high-speed and as they come closer they get bigger and bigger we see what they are, the mice were only decoys, now 40,000 Rats were coming. Rats are the same size as a Japanese sumo wrestler so it looked bleak, but Meg was the same size as a rat so she went right ahead of everyone and attacked, all cats stayed back and looked for Bob to tell him that his canine just ran away, Jim broke the silence by saying” did you just see Bob tell Meg to attack by putting his spurs in to her” and as he said that all the cats charged into the army of rats that Meg and Bob were already in. The same amount of time to get there the rats were a carpet of blood and bodies. When the cat army regrouped they were 200, the rest were dead, as they went back to camp they were all tired and the armour was dented and scratched some were so deep that some fur was showing. As they walked back Bob looked for Jim he saw him crying on a black patch that he recognised was Mea he was crying for happiness that he and Mea did not get killed as Bob came over and said soothingly “come on, we have to get back to camp”, “what me”, “yes you, don’t think we are leaving a soldier behind”, Jim says “me a solder!”

When they got back they went through the streets cats were throwing flowers out of the windows and every one that fought got the Collar of Honor it was a great day.

How has communication changed since you were young?

Dad: It is way more high tech and when my dad was an exchange student (New Zealand in 1976) he had to write a letter most of the time, a four to six minute phone call because it was so expensive so he did it once a week and tape recorded once a month.

Mum: There have been lots of changes. When I first stated working I used a telex machine, I don’t think you can get them now. In an antique shop maybe

Davy, Davy was a driver and radio operator in the army, he says: the radio in the Army has been made smaller and easier to use, since I started there have been three upgrades to the radio system.

What was your favourite way to communicate when you where young (except talking)?

Mum: My favourite way to communicate was to use the CB radio.

Dad: When I was in the young farmers exchange trip it was letter writing.

Davy: In the army it was the third radio because it was faster.

Did you get in trouble in any way e.g. like listening to someone’s conversation?

Mum: No but Papa got angry when sometimes the car had a flat battery in the morning. Were you talking to much!

Dad: No, but I had a dog called Fly and it use to bark when the tape recorder went on and my voice came up.

Davy: No, but I could not receive the Morse code message as fast as I could send the message.

What was and how did your favourite way to communicate work?

Mum: Mine is CB radio CB stands for citizen band radio it is an open channel form of radio communication. A little bit like texting you had your own language but it was verbal, every one had their handle, which was their name, e.g.: my uncle Mike was “the alligator” and my name was ‘Diamond Princess”. Most people had them installed in their cars with a large aerial on the roof.

Dad: mine is the letter - well first you write it then it goes to the post office and then hey presto! Well da!

Davy: the first radio that I used I had to tune in myself with large dials, the second one used numbers which you just click on to, the third is very similar to a computer. All three of them can be used with voice and Morse code, the third one can also send messages in burst form which makes it harder to detect.

Thursday

This Thursday room Totara will be having a day where you can not talk the whole but you can use other way of communication i think it will be fun.
